🐢<br><br><a href="https://snac.daltux.net?t=tersoftware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TerSoftware</a> <a href="https://snac.daltux.net?t=clipper" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Clipper</a> <a href="https://snac.daltux.net?t=dos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#DOS</a> <a href="https://snac.daltux.net?t=peertube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PeerTube</a><br><br>CC: <span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.br-linux.org/users/TagsBR" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@TagsBR@social.br-linux.org</a></span> <span class="h-card"><a href="https://mastodon.social/users/manualdousuario" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@manualdousuario@mastodon.social</a></span><br>
congusbongusgames<p>This week I've made a major breakthrough with <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/OpenCrystalCaves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenCrystalCaves</span></a> - decoded the <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/CrystalCaves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CrystalCaves</span></a> sound files, so now the game has sound!</p><p>This was a goal from day one but the reverse engineering proved tricky. It didn't help that the wiki page was misleading (the data file actually has footers, not headers). Staring at the files in a hex editor eventually gave it away.</p><p>Pic unrelated - audio recording broken, something else we added recently.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/GameDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GameDev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/DOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DOS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/RetroGames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGames</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/ScreenshotSaturday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ScreenshotSaturday</span></a></p>

PerfectDark<p>Here's a fun one:</p><p>Square Enix staff have discovered a cache of pristine retro games, some dating back to the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/C64" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>C64</span></a> era, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Atari" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Atari</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Amstrad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Amstrad</span></a> times. Amongst others, from the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Wii" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wii</span></a> and and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DOS</span></a> computer titles.</p><p>It's funny even seeing some <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/NGage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NGage</span></a> games are in there!</p><p>Workers have been invited to take what they want from it, but they're also in talks with the National Videogame Museum in Sheffield for maybe donating to them!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> at its finest?
