John Federico ⌘<p>I installed Elementary OS 8 (<a href="https://elementary.io" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">elementary.io</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>) on one with 8 GB RAM and it's quite snappy - and has all recent Ubuntu security patches. </p><p>The desktop experience is very Mac-like and I don't think the average user looking or a cheap laptop would care that it's not macOS, and neither would a non-profit who takes donations.
