Jules Enriquez<p><strong>⚠️ PSA for openSUSE Tumbleweed Budgie</strong></p><p>For anybody using Budgie on openSUSE Tumbleweed, please <strong>do not</strong> update your systems! The unfinished Budgie Wayland session, prerelease Magpie v1, and other related deps have begun landing in openSUSE Tumbleweed repos.</p><p>Here's a bug report about it:<br><a href="https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1239655" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug</span><span class="invisible">.cgi?id=1239655</span></a></p><p>A lot of this is packaged from Git master and is not ready for end-users yet. No distro should be shipping any of this yet, outside of development or nightly editions or branches.</p><p>Just updated a laptop and saw a very broken Budgie before my very eyes (see photo). SDDM also kept crashing every next boot afterwards until after all Budgie packages were purged.</p><p><a href="https://scalie.zone/tags/opensuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensuse</span></a> <a href="https://scalie.zone/tags/budgie" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>budgie</span></a> <a href="https://scalie.zone/tags/tumbleweed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tumbleweed</span></a></p>

:fedora: :freebsd: :archlinux:<p>I'm not a SuSE user (anymore), but this video (and many others in this series) inspires me every time I watch it! Great job, and you can have whatever opinion you want about Justin Timberlake, but it's a great song that takes you away and makes your day more cheerful. Was just flushed into my timeline again on YouTube and I just have to share it with the (Fediverse) world.</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-Rn0iQEpc8" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=A-Rn0iQEpc</span><span class="invisible">8</span></a></p><p><a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/suse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>suse</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/opensuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensuse</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/opensource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensource</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/freesoftware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>freesoftware</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/docker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>docker</span></a></p>

Taffer :godot: 🇨🇦<p>Almost ready to wipe my Tumbleweed laptop and start fresh again. Currently leaning towards Bazzite for more stability, easier/supported app installs, and official Framework support. Wondering about app freshness on Bazzite though.</p><p>I do need to look more into atomic distros vs rolling (EndeavourOS is also on the table), and how much RedHat controls the Fedora project.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/opensuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensuse</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/tumbleweed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tumbleweed</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/bazzite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bazzite</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/endeavouros" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>endeavouros</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/redhat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>redhat</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedora</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/arch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>arch</span></a></p>

Taffer :godot: 🇨🇦<p>I'm actually getting frustrated with running a rolling release; Tumbleweed has had a lot of problems over the last few weeks: graphical login screen crashing to console when I move the mouse, Wayland + KDE Plasma 6 hanging during login just before showing the desktop, CapsLock being locked on when I wake the laptop from sleep.</p><p>Bazzite's right there, and Fedora is officially supported on Framework. 🤔 </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/opensuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensuse</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/tumbleweed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tumbleweed</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/bazzite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bazzite</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedora</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/framework" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>framework</span></a></p>
