Rant time:

It’s unbelievable that Windows 11 does not recognize that I removed OneDrive and ms Teams. After one simple update or reboot, it always comes back. The CPU is constantly running at 100%, and I don’t have anything open except for Task Manager. This laptop is less than 24 hours old, and I’m already preparing to switch back to Pop!_OS in the next few days. I knew that Windows was terrible, but even after de-bloating the OS, I don’t feel or see a difference.

Modern printers and especially multi-function devices are driverless (no device-model specific software or information needed), for both the printer and the scanner part. Printing works via IPP and scanning via eSCL or WSD.

On Linux this works very well and people appreciate it.

has switched over to Windows Protected Print now, in its 24H2 release. No printer drivers supported any more, only driverless.

But it seems that scanning got forgotten ...
